Before the first listening session
- The M3U link from your PRORANKTV WhatsApp chat (it contains get.php)
- Something that plays a playlist URL: VLC on a computer, Kodi’s PVR IPTV Simple Client, or Smart IPTV on a TV
- The xmltv.php guide address, if your player asks for it on its own
Still waiting for details? The PRORANKTV 24-hour trial sends a working login to WhatsApp in the same format as a paid term. Once it arrives, live TV sorted by language shows which groups to practice with.
8 steps to a working M3U playlist
Decide if this player should get the playlist link
Before using the link, look at what the player offers. Three fields for a server, a username and a password mean it takes Xtream Codes, which brings the guide and the catch-up information with it: use that instead. A portal field tied to a MAC means a MAG-style box. The M3U link is for everything else: VLC on a desktop or laptop, Kodi with the IPTV Simple Client add-on, Smart IPTV on a Samsung or LG television, and any app whose only option is a playlist URL. The same account sits behind all three formats, so the choice costs nothing.
Check the link is whole
Copy the link from the activation message into a note and read it once. It starts with http://, then the server and port, then /get.php, followed by username= and password= parameters carrying your details, sometimes with further parameters after them that set the playlist type. Leave every part as it is. A link that wraps across two lines in a chat app can lose its tail when copied, and a link without its password fails without saying why.
Build the guide address from the same details
The program guide is a separate file on the same server. Its address is the server and port followed by /xmltv.php, with the same username and password parameters as the playlist. Players that read only a playlist ask for it in a field labeled EPG, XMLTV or guide URL. If building it by hand feels error-prone, ask in the WhatsApp chat and it will be sent ready to paste. Without it, channels play, but no listings appear beside them.
Open it in VLC for a desk session
On a computer, VLC is the fastest test. Windows users open the Media menu and pick Open Network Stream; Mac users pick Open Network from the File menu. Paste the link and press Play. The list loads into the playlist view, where you can scroll or type part of a channel name into its search box. During playback, the track lists under the Audio and Subtitle menus show exactly what that stream carries. VLC has no program guide grid, so plan your practice slot from a player that shows listings.
Set up Kodi when you want the guide beside the channels
Kodi shows channels and listings together through a PVR add-on. Install PVR IPTV Simple Client from the add-on menu, under PVR clients, then open its settings and paste the M3U link into the playlist URL field and the xmltv.php address into the XMLTV or EPG field. Enable the add-on and restart Kodi. The TV section then lists the channels in their groups with a guide alongside. Menu names shift a little between Kodi versions, but the add-on name stays the same.
Hand the link to a television app
On a Samsung or LG television, Smart IPTV takes the link through its developer’s upload page, filed under the app’s MAC; the Smart IPTV guide on this site walks through it. Other television apps ask for a playlist URL directly in their settings. Either way, paste the full link from a phone or computer rather than typing it with a remote, because a single wrong character in an address this long is hard to find afterwards.
Cut the list down to the language you practice
A full playlist covers channels from 60+ countries, a lot to scroll through on a practice evening. Players sort it by the group labels inside the file, so jump to your language’s group instead of scrolling from the top. In VLC you can go further: delete the entries you will never use from the playlist view and save the rest as a small playlist file, if your version offers saving. Keep that file private, since every entry carries your login, and make a new one if your details ever change.
Verify: one channel, kept, with its guide line
Play a channel in your target language, NPO 1 for Dutch or SIC for European Portuguese, and listen until you are sure of the language. Keep it, as a favorite in Kodi or in your short playlist in VLC. Then, in Kodi, open the guide on that channel and note the next program’s start time; with VLC, which shows no listings, check the time in a player that does. A channel that plays, a shortcut that keeps it and a listing that times it are what a daily practice slot needs.
5 hitches with M3U playlist, each with its fix
VLC says it cannot open the address
A worked case: VLC reported that it could not open the input, and the pasted link stopped at username= with nothing after it, because the chat had split the line. Copy the link again, paste it into a note first, check that it ends with your password and anything after it, then paste it into VLC. If a complete link still fails, ask in the chat whether the trial or the term has ended.
Kodi lists the channels but the guide stays empty
Open the PVR IPTV Simple Client settings and look at the XMLTV field. Most often it is empty, or it holds the M3U link where the xmltv.php address belongs. Paste the guide address, save, and restart Kodi; the first fill takes a few minutes. A few channels send no listings at all, and those play with an empty row.
A television app takes minutes to load the list
Thousands of entries sit in the file, and simpler television apps read every one before showing anything. That is slow but normal. If it happens every time the app opens, try a player that takes the Xtream login, since those tend to cope better with a list this size, or plug in an Android or Fire OS stick, whose players handle large lists more easily.
A free list from the internet played for a day, then stopped
Public M3U lists are unreliable and unsupported: streams appear and vanish without notice, the names often match nothing that plays, and there is nobody to ask when they stop. Your own link is tied to your account, comes with help in the WhatsApp chat and stays valid for your term. Delete the public list from the player so its dead entries do not crowd your own.
The sound is not in the language the group suggests
In VLC, open the Audio menu, then Audio Track, during playback; in Kodi, the audio settings in the player menu. If the stream carries more than one track, choose the one you want. If only one appears, that is the language being broadcast, and the program may be an import. A news channel from the same group is the surest way back to your target language.
Still stuck after these? PRORANKTV faults that are not tied to one device covers the general ones, and a picture of the error message, taken on your phone and sent to WhatsApp, saves describing it.
Questions about PRORANKTV with M3U playlist
Where is my PRORANKTV M3U link?
In the WhatsApp chat, inside the activation message sent when your trial or plan starts, next to the server URL, username and password. It begins with http:// and contains get.php. Nothing is sent by email. Guard the link like a password: whoever holds it can play on your account and use up your connections.
What is the PRORANKTV EPG URL?
It is the same server and port as your playlist, followed by /xmltv.php, with the username and password added as parameters. A player that reads only playlists asks for it in a field called EPG, XMLTV or guide URL, while Xtream players fetch it unprompted. The PRORANKTV TV guide page explains what the listings cover.
M3U link or Xtream Codes login: which should I use?
Use Xtream Codes whenever the player offers it, because the guide, the catch-up information and the on-demand sections come with it. Use the M3U link only where a player reads nothing else, as VLC, Kodi’s Simple Client and Smart IPTV do. Both open the same account, and the Xtream Codes login guide explains the three-field version.
Can I watch PRORANKTV in VLC?
Yes. Paste the M3U link under Open Network Stream on Windows or Open Network on a Mac, and VLC lists every channel. Its Audio and Subtitle menus show which tracks each stream carries, which helps when you practice at a desk with notes. VLC has no guide grid, so plan your listening slot from Kodi or another player that shows listings.
Are free M3U lists online worth trying instead?
No. Public lists are unreliable and unsupported: streams vanish without warning, names rarely match what plays, and there is nobody to contact when a list stops. A paid link belongs to your own account and comes with help in the WhatsApp chat. A 24-hour free trial gives you a working link for 24 hours to compare.
Does the PRORANKTV M3U link carry movies and series?
Sometimes: that depends on the playlist type set in the link, but playlist players show on-demand titles as long flat lists that are hard to browse. For the 120,000+ movies and series, with their audio and subtitle choices, sign in with the Xtream login in a player that has Movies and Series sections. The PRORANKTV channel list shows what the live side holds.
