PRORANKTV – Live TV for language learners, from beginner to pro

PRORANKTV on a MAG or Formuler box, from the MAC label to the first channel

A MAG or Formuler box suits a learner who wants practice to feel like ordinary television: a remote with number keys, channel up and down, and a guide button, with no phone in your hand. Neither box takes an app login the usual way. A MAG plays PRORANKTV through a portal address activated against the MAC printed on the box; every MAG MAC begins 00:1A:79. A Formuler goes through MyTVOnline, using either the same portal method or an Xtream Codes login with the three usual details, and because it runs Android it can also host TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro. How favorites, the program guide, catch-up and the audio and subtitle menus look depends on the portal and the firmware, so treat each of them as available if your version offers it.

Before the first listening session

  • Any MAG model from the 3xx, 4xx or 5xx lines, or a Formuler running MyTVOnline
  • The MAC address from the label under the box; on a MAG it starts 00:1A:79
  • The portal URL, which PRORANKTV sends after activating your MAC, or on a Formuler the Xtream details
  • An Ethernet cable, when the router sits in the same room

Still waiting for details? The PRORANKTV 24-hour trial sends a working login to WhatsApp in the same format as a paid term. Once it arrives, live TV sorted by language shows which groups to practice with.

9 steps to a working MAG or Formuler box

  1. Decide: portal or Xtream login

The box makes part of this decision for you. A MAG reads one format only, a portal address tied to its MAC, so there is nothing to choose: send the MAC and wait for the portal. A Formuler gives you a real choice inside MyTVOnline. The portal route works like the MAG and needs the MAC activated first. The Xtream Codes route skips the MAC step and uses the same username, password and server URL as any phone or stick. If you also practice on a phone, Xtream keeps one set of details everywhere; the portal suits a box that never leaves the living room.

    Choose a PRORANKTV plan

  2. Photograph the MAC label and send the picture

Tip the box up: the label underneath carries the MAC, which also appears on the settings or device information screen. On a MAG, the prefix 00:1A:79 is a quick check that you are reading the right line. Photograph the label and send the picture in the PRORANKTV WhatsApp chat instead of retyping it, because one wrong pair of characters sends the activation to a MAC nobody owns. Hold off on the box itself until the chat confirms that the portal is live for that MAC; a portal entered too early only shows an error.

  3. Cable it, and set the time zone

Plug the box into the router with Ethernet if the two share a room; a cable takes Wi-Fi out of the question later, when you wonder why a channel stutters. Otherwise join Wi-Fi from the network settings. Then set the time zone to where you live. The program guide places every listing against the box clock, and a fixed practice slot only works if the 7 p.m. forecast appears at 7 p.m. on the screen.

  4. MAG: type the address into Portal 1, then restart

On the MAG, go to Settings and System settings, then Servers and Portals. Portal 1 needs a name of your choosing and the portal URL, typed exactly as it arrived in the chat, character for character; then save. Leave Portal 2 empty. Then restart the box, from the settings menu or by unplugging it for ten seconds: the portal is read at start-up only, so nothing changes before the reboot. The first load can sit on a progress screen for a minute while the channel list and the listings come down.

  5. Formuler: add the account in MyTVOnline

Launch MyTVOnline on the Formuler; depending on the model it is version 2 or 3. To use the portal, pick the option that adds one, name it and type the portal URL; the box supplies its own MAC. For the Xtream route, choose Xtream Codes instead and enter the server URL with http:// and the port, then the username and the password. Save, and MyTVOnline loads the channel groups and the guide. One route is enough: entering both only gives you two copies of the same line-up to scroll through.

  6. Walk to your language with the remote

Groups follow country and language, so step through them with the remote rather than channel by channel. For Arabic, the Arabic-language groups hold MBC 1 to 4, Al Jazeera, Al Arabiya, Rotana, Abu Dhabi TV and Dubai TV, alongside Egyptian, Saudi, Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian, Lebanese and Iraqi channels. The spoken dialects differ widely between those countries, while news channels mostly use Modern Standard Arabic, so a learner of the standard register can start with news and add a dialect later. Note the numbers of the channels you use; number keys beat any menu.

  7. Mark favorites and find the guide button

Favorites work differently from one portal to the next, and between MAG firmware and MyTVOnline, so look for a favorites entry in the channel list menu or a colored button named on screen, if your version offers one. Add four or five channels from easy to hard: a forecast, a news channel, a general channel, then sport. Next, open the program guide, from the EPG or Guide button on remotes that have one or from the menu, and look for a program that airs at the same time every day. That slot becomes your fixed practice hour.

  8. Look for replay marks and the audio menu

In the guide, move back along one of your channels. On channels that keep catch-up, the portal or MyTVOnline may mark finished programs as replayable, if your version shows it; opening one starts it from the beginning. While something plays, the info or options button may bring up audio-track and subtitle choices. On live channels expect one soundtrack and no subtitles, since captions appear only when the broadcaster sends them. Where the portal has an on-demand section, its titles vary one by one.

  9. Prove it: one channel, one favorite, one guide line

Choose a channel in the language you practice, RTP1 for European Portuguese or NPO 1 for Dutch, play it and listen until you are sure of the language. Add it to favorites, or write down its number if your portal has no favorites option. Open the guide on that channel and read the time of the next program. Finally switch the box off at the wall and on again: it should come back to the channel list without a prompt. If all of that holds, the box is ready for daily practice.

5 hitches on the MAG or Formuler box, each with its fix

The MAC you sent starts 00:1A:78

A worked case: the portal stayed dead after activation, and the MAC in the chat read 00:1A:78 instead of 00:1A:79, because one digit had slipped while typing. Every MAG MAC begins 00:1A:79, so a different prefix means a typing error, not a different box. A photo of the label, sent in the chat, settles it: wait for the corrected activation, and restart the box once it is confirmed.

The MAG shows its own menu instead of channels

When a MAG cannot load the portal, it usually falls back to its own built-in menu. Go back to the Portals screen under System settings and compare the address with the chat letter by letter: a missing slash, a space at the end or a wrong port is enough to stop it. Fix the character, save, and reboot the box. When the address already matches, the activation may not have been confirmed yet; ask in the chat before changing anything else.

Formuler: the Xtream login works, the portal does not

That pattern means the box’s MAC has not been activated for the portal, while the Xtream details work on any device. Either stay on Xtream, which brings the same channels and listings, or send the MAC from the label and wait for confirmation before trying the portal again. Once one route works, delete the other entry so the groups are not doubled.

A replacement box gets nothing at all

The portal is bound to the old box’s MAC, so a new MAG or Formuler is unknown to it. Send a photo of the new label in the WhatsApp chat and ask for the activation to move to the new MAC, then enter the portal and restart. On a Formuler, the Xtream route avoids the wait, because the three details work on the new box straight away.

A football match plays with commentary in another language

Some sports streams can carry more than one commentary track. Press the info or options button during playback and look for an audio entry, if your firmware offers one. If only one track is listed, that is the language the channel broadcasts in. For Spanish-language commentary, look in the US Spanish-language and Latin American groups, where ESPN Deportes, Fox Deportes, TUDN, Win Sports and TyC Sports sit.

Still stuck after these? PRORANKTV faults that are not tied to one device covers the general ones, and a picture of the error message, taken on your phone and sent to WhatsApp, saves describing it.

Questions about PRORANKTV on the MAG or Formuler box

Does PRORANKTV work on a MAG box?

Yes, through a portal address activated for that particular box, identified by a MAC beginning 00:1A:79. A picture of the label sent in the WhatsApp chat starts the activation; once it is confirmed, enter the portal under Settings, System settings, Servers, Portals, and restart. Nothing is installed on a MAG. Once it loads, the PRORANKTV channel list shows which country groups to expect.

Can a Formuler use the PRORANKTV Xtream login instead of a portal?

Yes. MyTVOnline on a Formuler accepts an Xtream Codes login, so the server URL, username and password from the chat work without sending the MAC first. The channels and the guide are the same as through the portal. The PRORANKTV Xtream Codes login guide explains where each of the three details goes.

Is a MAG or Formuler box good for language practice?

It suits learners who want television to behave like television: number keys, a guide button and nothing to install. It is less flexible than an app, because favorites, catch-up marks and the audio and subtitle menus depend on the portal and the firmware. If you practice from the guide at a fixed hour, that matters little. The PRORANKTV languages page shows how deep each language goes.

Can I install TiviMate on a Formuler box?

Yes, Formuler boxes run Android, so TiviMate and IPTV Smarters Pro can go on where the box’s app store lists them, and both accept the PRORANKTV Xtream login. That puts TiviMate’s guide grid on the same hardware; the PRORANKTV TiviMate setup covers the details. A MAG cannot run either app.

Do MAG boxes show PRORANKTV catch-up?

On channels that keep an archive, the portal can offer replays of finished programs, if your firmware and portal show the option. Archive length varies by channel, and some channels keep none at all. PRORANKTV catch-up TV lists what the archive covers and how to find it in the guide.

What happens if I replace my MAG box?

The portal follows the MAC, not the account, so a new box needs its MAC activated. Send a photo of the new label in the WhatsApp chat and ask for the activation to move across, then enter the portal and restart. Your plan, its term and its connections stay as they were.
